LOVE in ACTION
Intreview with Ketu Bo
by Anisha
Ketu has been assisting Veeresh for many years and will be doing so in this group too.
What can a participant expect from Love in Action Workshop?
You can expect to go beyond your limits!
We usually live to a minimum; we breathe to a minimum, we feel to a minimum and we express ourselves to a minimum.
Then we wonder why our lives are grey and boring…
In this workshop you will live your life to the maximum,
to see what you are really capable of and to experience your real potential as a human being.
After the workshop things fall in place and you see how much you limit yourself.
Taking responsibility for doing that to yourself is important,
because then you will be able to change it.
Blaming others will keep you inside the box.
What techniques will you be using?
I am trained by Veeresh and that means I will use whichever technique is necessary to open you to love.
Expressing repressed emotions is important, but so is practicing giving and receiving love.
One way to sum up everybody’s problems is to say that people are isolated,
so I work a lot with relating techniques, among them are the Humaniversity Social Meditations.
Bodywork and dance is always a part of what I do.
Our blocks are manifested on a physical level and to help you become alive again you need to move your body.
I wish also we can have fun together this weekend.
Finding out who you are has to be a challenging, exciting and fun experience.
How can I as a participant do to maintain the ‘’Love in Action’’ in my daily life?
Examine your whole life-style! Do only what supports you to be who you want to be.
When you come home from the group, look at your apartment and change everything you are not happy with.
Hang out with people who support your growth.
Move your body, do meditations, run and dance more.
Start setting yourself realistic, achievable goals and acknowledge yourself when you attain them.
Take full responsibility for who you are, what you do and what happens to you.
My experience is that everybody is longing for love,
to love and be loved and yet it’s so scary to open up and let love in,
can you comment?
Everybody wants love, but due to unresolved painful life experiences,
at some point in your life you start to avoid love and expect pain.
This is the Primal Knot.
Work on two levels to change this pattern:
Go for love and friendship in the here and now and work on expressing the fears, the anger and the pain coming up from your past.
What happens on the physical and emotional level when you close off from love and nourishment?
To protect ourselves from pain we build elaborate defense systems and
tense our bodies until a point where our breath becomes very shallow and our feelings very dull.
We create a reality to fit our defensive pattern.
If we are scared of getting close to another we start using belief systems like ‘Men cannot be trusted’ or ‘All women are manipulators’.
You adapt a behaviour to keep yourself safe.
Deep down you feel that it is better to avoid pain than to receive love.
When asked how you are the answer is always “I'm OK” and you are not even aware of your unhappiness.
You start to overeat, to work all day or to watch TV to avoid feeling miserable.
You are isolated.
What is your personal drive to work with people?
After having lived in the Humaniversity for two years I went to
Although I was not trained for this work I became very successful.
At some point it dawned on me why: After having lived in the Humaniversity it was very natural for me to make friends with the people I worked with.
I gave the people I worked with love and dignity.
Their way of giving me love back was to make progress in their development.
Understanding this was a decisive moment and I decided to return to the Humaniversity to become a therapist.
Having the opportunity to train with Veeresh has been the greatest gift of my life.
Would you like to share something about your passion for dance?
I was always doing sports like athletics, football and skiing.
Moving my body was what kept me sane growing up.
Music was always a passion of mine, collecting records and sneaking into the local jazz club before I was old enough.
Dance has been a chance for me to combine my love of movement with my passion for music.
Allowing myself to listen to my body and move intuitively with music has made me able to put more spontaneity
and flow into my daily life. But most importantly: Dancing is fun!
Is there anything you would like to add?
The rest of your life starts today! Your attitude and intention is your most valuable asset.
If you are not going for what makes you happy and fulfills your dreams, then you need to change something.
It is in your hands, you have the power.
